The Admirals And Business - Perfect Teamwork:

Greenwich Admirals is one of the top amateur Rugby League clubs in London and one of the premier clubs in Southern England. We play a major part in our local community, encouraging adults and young people to play the sport, to get fit and learn valuable life lessons sport can teach.

In a region which has many deprived areas we provide vital positive role models and personal development.

The prestigious Greenwich Borough "Team of the Year” Award has recognised our work.

We represent our region with pride as we travel around Southern England and as a result, we enjoy exceptional press coverage. We pride ourselves on the fact that we enjoy as many column inches locally as Premiership football club Charlton Athletic, who play just a mile down the road.

These are exciting times for the Admirals and we hope you will want to be a part of them.

Highlights of the 2009 Season:

Key Goals for 2010 Season:

Our aim is to allow and encourage local people to play and enjoy the great game of Rugby League.

The first phase of that is nearing completion as we have established ourselves as a self-sustained club, with our own junior players coming through to our adult sides. Phase 2 is just beginning as we look outwards to build a local Rugby League community. This exciting project will involve establishing more junior clubs around Southeast London (together with the local professional development officer) and a massive promotional campaign to encourage bigger crowds.

  • Promotion to the Rugby League Conference Premier League
  • Second team to be promoted to the Rugby League Conference
  • Establish a U12's team
  • Major promotional exercise to build crowds to 500 per game
  • Establish two new junior clubs.

Club Structure:

As a club, we have two adult sides, three junior sides at U14, U15 & U16; we support Southeast London's junior representative side the Southeast London Service Area which is the most successful youth development scheme in the South of England.

Five of its graduates were awarded professional contracts by Harlequins RL, Bradford Bulls, Halifax and Sheffield Eagles and one of them, Rob Worrincy, was voted national BARLA Young Player of the Year.

  • First Team: Rugby League Conference - 22 man squad.
  • U18's Development Squad approx. 40 players last year.
  • Junior Admirals: Under 13s - 16s - approx. 150 players last year.
